Getting Started @olin

After your school sends a request to cross-register in a particular class, the Olin registrar will send you an email to tell you if you have been accepted into the class. Here are some practical details you will need.

First, if you have any questions, please feel free to email us. Who are we? Check the About Us page.

Campus Services

If you are new to Olin, you will need to obtain an Olin identification card from the Information Technology office, located on the lower level of Milas Hall. This can be done at the beginning of the semester.

To obtain a parking permit for Olin College, please complete an on-line application.

Information Technology

You may also need some Information Technology services while taking course(s) at Olin. To find out what is available to you, please see this site (PDF).

As a new student to Olin you will need to visit Olin’s Information Technology Helpdesk to obtain your network credentials to access all relevant information for your course(s). The IT Helpdesk is located in the lower level of Milas Hall. Access information will not be available until the first day of classes.

As a cross-registered student you are responsible for all the academic policies as stated in your home school’s policies that govern cross-registration. Olin’s academic policies are available in the Student Handbook or Catalog found at http://star.olin.edu. Also on this site is the academic calendar that has pertinent dates for the semester.

Your Schedule

Once you have obtained your network credentials, you can see your student schedule and the course location by accessing our student information system and looking under the MyStAR tab. In lieu of this access, you can obtain course location via Olin’s registration booklet located at the StAR web site. It is important to check this site for course location close to the beginning of the semester as course locations often change.

FYI, most Olin classes meet in the Academic Center. The abbreviation for the Academic Center is the “AC”. The my.olin.edu site will show your class location as ACAD followed by the room number.

This secure website will also provide you with grade at the end of the semester. Olin College does not send paper schedules or paper grade reports. You can access your information when you receive your network credentials (username and password) from our Information Technology department.

Welcome!

Olin welcomes you to the community and we look forward to seeing you on campus!
